My name is Joseph Reyes. I am originally from New York, Long Island born and raised. I went to SUNY Oneonta as a Pre-Medicine major but transferred to St. Joseph's College in my junior year. At St. Joseph's College I majored in Child Study with a minor/concentration in Speech Communications. I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree. I am a certified teacher in New York from birth - 6th grade general education and birth - 6th grade special education. I moved to Connecticut when hired by New Haven Public Schools. In Connecticut, I am certified Kindergarten - 12th grade special education. I am currently the 2nd - 4th grade self contained teacher at Brennan Rogers School of Communication and Media.
Before becoming a teacher I worked at Saf-T-Swim on Long Island teaching swimming lessons and coaching the swim team. I currently work as a DJ and photographer for Prime Parties Entertainment.
I am a snowboard enthusiast and love to ride every chance I get. During my summer months off, I spend most of my time on the beach. I love to take my jeep out on the beach and go off-roading whenever I have the opportunity. I ran track from 8th grade through my junior year of college. I love my dog Momo. She is a black and tan Mini Dachshund who is very loving and playful.
This is who I am in a nut shell and I look forward to getting to know you and your children during their time in my classroom.
